Story
Adam Smith 1975 - 2024
My uncle Adam was 47 when he was diagnosed with terminal glioblastoma in November 2022. A carpenter by trade, he was a kind, gentle man who loved his family and loved building things with his hands.
Even with a terminal diagnosis, and the heartbreak of losing his own Dad to cancer during treatment, Adam faced everything with quiet bravery. What never left him was his humour - dry, wry, and always there to lift everyone around him. He could find a way to make us laugh on the hardest days.
He fought with courage until November 2024. I'm running this half marathon in his memory, for a charity supporting others facing brain tumours, to honour a man who met life's toughest blows with dignity, love, and a smile.
