12 Hour Hyrox · 29 December 2024

Helping disengaged teenagers grow their self confidence and emotional well-being through self-defence, mixed martial arts, dance workshops and peer mentoring programmes.

Story

I'm hoping to raise £1,000 for the NSM Foundation.

At the end of the year, I will be taking on 12 hours of Hyrox at Kinematic - The Unit, Standish.

We are opening this out to anyone and everyone to come and get involved! So, if you would like do 1..or 6 Hyrox sims, we're just asking for a £15 entry fee donation to the charity.

We have an amazing member, Gabi, who has 2 children both with Dravet Syndrome. Jenson is 7 and Layla is 5. They both suffer with seizures which can range from 1 minute up to 2 hrs and due to the seizures being so long and the amount of medication given to stop it they have ended up spending time in intensive care.

The seizures are so unpredictable and can happen at any time, there is no warning. With both kids having low immune systems they pick up a lot of bugs which can trigger seizures due to the body being under more pressure to fight off the infection.

They have so many daily struggles but they still do everything with a smile on their face and they don't let this stop them having a go at new things.

Gabi and Ed are incredible humans and face everything with positivity and amazing attitudes.

Their charity is the NSM Foundation which could give Gabi, Ed and the kids their dream holiday - something they are more than deserving of!
