Story
Every year Amelia's school ask why they want to run for school council. This year she shared that she wanted to raise awareness and money for the homeless. Amelia might not have got into the school council but she does want to keep helping the homeless which is why she is doing the 5K run this weekend in support of Peterboroughs Light Project. A charity based in Peterborough which does amazing work through its staff and volunteers for those who are homeless.
At their Garden House project (also Peterborough's Homeless Hub), 988 people were given support with homelessness between April 2025 - March 2026. 550 people were also helped to move off the streets and into accommodation during the same period.
As well as the Garden House, LPP lead on other important projects such as Street Chaplaincy, Health Outreach Bus, Homeless Health Peer Advocacy, Emergency Accommodation, Asylum Seeker Wellbeing Cafes, and Across Peterborough.
