Bi Pride UK sadly had to cancel their annual event this year due to lack of funding, and whilst planning to go ahead next year this is reliant on funding. As a bisexual person (who will 100% be attending next years event!), events for the bi + community are super important and affirming as it will be for many others. The bisexual community still do face many harmful stereotypes and erasure both from cis het people and sadly sometimes from others in the LGBTQIA+ community. Spaces where we are celebrated and valued are always needed. Also, smaller pride events in general need funding and help to keep going in the current climate.

I am running a fundraiser at Brew coffee shop in Hull. We have amazing performers, many of whom are part of the queer community, face painting, and a day of fun and community! I have decided not to ticket this because it is essentially a small scale pride themed event, so whilst wanting to raise money it will be nice to have a day of pride and community too!

On the day there will be opportunities for cash donations, a raffle and face painting (all cash only), and I will donate the all proceeds onto here afterwards to go directly to Bi Pride UK. I have decided to open this page a couple of months in advance and will keep it open until the beginning of December. This gives the opportunity for people who can’t make it but want to chip in to do so, and for those who don’t have cash on the day I will print a few QR codes directly to the page.
