Story
Our team is coming together to raise funds for Once Upon a Smile, a remarkable UK charity that provides vital bereavement support to children and families in Greater Manchester. This organisation offers a lifeline to those navigating the profound loss of a loved one, whether a parent, sibling, or grandparent, through tailored emotional and practical support, creative programs, and safe spaces like Sidley House, where kids can express their grief in a fun, supportive environment. Why are we raising money for this cause? For many of us, the pain of losing someone close is overwhelming, especially for children and young people who may struggle to process their grief.
One of our team members knows this firsthand. When they started secondary school, their mother passed away after a long battle with cancer. A few years later, their grandfather took his own life, compounding the family’s loss. In those dark times, the kind of support Once Upon a Smile provides, compassionate, practical, and child-focused, would have made a world of difference.
This charity helps families rebuild and find light again, offering everything from financial assistance to respite breaks and creative outlets for kids to honour their loved ones. By fundraising for Once Upon a Smile, we’re ensuring more children and families get the help they need to heal. Every donation counts toward creating those safe spaces and unforgettable moments of connection for those who need it most. Join us in supporting this incredible cause.
Together, we can make a real difference.
And a massive shoutout to Leanne Rainford, Damon Thackeray, and Marian Pop, who’ve stepped up to join the team and are confirmed to do the jumps for this cause. You lot are absolute legends!
