Story

Hi, my name is Amie, I have cerebral palsy and use an electric wheelchair for mobility. I am raising money in aid of Ability Dogs 4 Young People IoW by completing a 200m walk using my walker, 200m swim and then a 200m cycle on an adapted trike at the end of September. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

Ability Dogs 4 Young People is an Isle of Wight charity training assistance dogs (Ability Dogs) to help young people and children with physical or mental disabilities. This amazing charity has personally helped me by welcoming Brandy, a chocolate Labrador, into my life to offer assistance and independence. The charity specially trains dogs to assist with practical tasks such as opening doors, retrieving items, and alerting to medical emergencies, tailored to each individuals specific needs. Beyond physical support, they offer emotional companionship, helping to reduce anxiety and build confidence in social and educational settings.
