Amilie's fundraiser for Endometriosis UK

Amilie Kerr is raising money for Endometriosis UK

Hike · 28 March 2026

Over 1.5 million in the UK have endometriosis and the impact of the disease is for some devastating, yet diagnosis takes on average 8 years. With your donations we are turning this around, raising awareness, providing support and information, supporting research, and campaigning for change.

Story

I am pleased to announce that I will be undertaking a fundraising event in support of Endometriosis UK, a charity that is extremely close to my heart.

In November 2023, following surgery, I was formally diagnosed with endometriosis. I am currently 18 years old; however, I have experienced severe symptoms from the age of 10.This chronic condition has significantly impacted my childhood and teenage years, affecting both my physical health and quality of life.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women worldwide, yet the average time to receive a diagnosis is approximately 7.5 years. Up to 40% of women with endometriosis may experience infertility, and only around 60% are able to conceive. The condition profoundly affects daily life, and those who suffer from it have done nothing to cause it.

To raise awareness and support vital research and treatment, I will be climbing Pen y Fan in South Wales on 28 March, during Endometriosis Awareness Month. This challenge is open to everyone, and all are welcome to join me.

Any donation, no matter how small, will contribute towards improving diagnosis, treatment, and support for those living with endometriosis, and towards the hope of finding a cure.

Thank you everyone

Love Amilie x
