I am proud to be participating in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10K on 31 May 2026 to raise funds for Dr Kershaw's Hospice. This remarkable hospice provides free, specialist palliative and end-of-life care to adults with life-limiting illnesses across Oldham and its surrounding areas. Operating from a peaceful, homely environment, the hospice offers a 12-bed Inpatient Unit dedicated to complex symptom management and compassionate end-of-life care.

In addition to inpatient services, Dr Kershaw's Hospice runs a Wellbeing Centre that delivers day care, therapeutic sessions, and complementary therapies designed to improve quality of life. Their commitment extends into the community through the 'Hospice at Home' service and the 'Caring Hands' team, ensuring patients receive support in their own homes. The hospice also provides a 24-hour advice line, counselling for patients and families, and dedicated bereavement support.

The need for continued funding is critical to maintain these vital services that bring comfort and dignity during challenging times.
