My family and I are raising funds to build a masjid inn'sha'Allah on behalf of our late parents as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah.
Our beloved mother, the heart of our family, passed away in May of this year, after suffering from alzheimers dementia. She was only 55yrs old.
Sadly, only 5 months after our mother's passing, our father, the pillar of our family, passed away in October. He was 61yrs old. His passing was sudden with no illness, later confirmed as natural death.
Our world came to a stop. Losing a parent is hard but to lose both parents in the same year and so quick is incomprehensible.
Our parents leave behind 6 children and 8 grandchildren.
One of the last communication we had with our father was his intention to build a masjid in memory of our mother. He was passionate about getting this complete. But with the grief of losing our mother, we couldnt quite get around to starting this. Little did we know, we'd now be looking to build a masjid in memory of both of our parents instead. We plan but Allah plans best.
Working with Muslim Hands, we are looking to build a masjid in the rural parts of Niger, West Africa.
The masjid will hold up to 100 worshippers and provide a place for daily salah, jum'uah, taraweeh during the holy month of Ramadan, and Eid salah along with other benefits such as Qur'an classes for the children of the village. The current cost for the masjid is £5,350.

By building a masjid you will not only earn the reward of providing a community with a house of Allah, but your Sadaqah Jariyah will continue giving benefit for generations to come inn'sha'Allah.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a mosque, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (450) and Muslim (533).
