Snowdon Hike to build a school in rural Pakistan · 14 September 2024 ·

Join us on 14th September as we climb Mount Snowdon to raise funds for building a school in Abbaspur, Pakistan. Your donations will help disadvantaged girls and boys access quality education. Every contribution counts. Thank you for your support!

Story

I will be raising funds by hiking up Mount Snowden for A2Z Foundation https://www.a2zf.org/index.html a UK registered charity who are currently building a school and college in Abbaspur, Kashmir (AJK), a heavily militarised rural town bordering India.

As you know, my family roots stem from Kashmir. A beautiful yet hugely underdeveloped region.

This school will offer high quality affordable primary, secondary and college level education to the local population who are majority farmers or unskilled labourers. In the long term this will help families and future generations break the cycle of perpetual poverty. Equally as important, the students will now be able to achieve their own goals and aspirations as we try to afford them the same opportunities as we have in the UK, InshAllah

The schools and college will be consist of:

- 1000 students

- 34 class rooms

- 42,000 sq ft

- 3 floors

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Wealth is not in having many possessions. Rather, true wealth is the richness of the soul.”
