Story
Sending Architecture Books to Homs, Syria:
My name is Ammar Azzouz, I am an architect and an academic based in Oxford. After being displaced for 14 years to the UK, I have been able to return to my city, Homs, Syria. During my visit to the Department of Architecture, I was struck by the lack of resources available for students. The photo reveals many empty shelves, with most of the books on the right side being students' graduation reports. The few architecture books that remain were mostly brought in before the war began in 2011.
It is heartbreaking to see aspiring architects with so little access to knowledge and resources. This is why I am reaching out for your support. Together, we can make a difference by sending donations that will be used to acquire new architecture books and transport them back to Syria. This initiative is not just about books; it is a campaign of knowledge and love aimed at empowering architecture students and helping them build a future free from ruins.
I would be immensely grateful for your support in this endeavor. If you prefer to send books instead of donating, please reach out to me separately. Remember, books can change lives...
Our target amount is £3,000 GBP.
