Gone in the Air: Help us ensure no child is left behind

Story

Our research, Gone in the Air, reveals serious barriers young people in rural areas face in accessing music. With over a quarter of rural bus routes cut, many are left with limited opportunities to explore their creativity. Shockingly, only 10% of rural youth surveyed had ever attended a concert.

Current funding formulas fail to account for the higher costs of delivering music education in rural areas. One music hub is spending £87,000 this year on travel alone. We've launched an open letter to government leaders to ask them to reform rural funding. Perhaps you've already signed - if so, thank you for your support! But we need funding too, urgently. We want to expand our work and deliver our projects in new communities, and to reach even more children.

That's where our new Gone in the Air campaign comes in.

We'd love it if you could donate today. Any amount at all helps us to expand our projects into new areas and to reach more communities.

Music is a lifeline for so many young people. Let’s make sure they don’t have to leave their communities behind to access it!

Thanks so much for your help!
