Thames Path Ultra Challenge 2024 · 14 September 2024 ·

Small Steps supports young children with physical disabilities from London and beyond. We teach parents of children with cerebral palsy and other forms of motor and sensory impairment, to help their child maximise their independence. Small Steps is 100% charity funded and our sessions are free.

Story

Our family puzzle was finally complete when our beautiful Lola was born in May 2023. Her Down Syndrome makes her even more perfect, and she has already started changing the world around her. That's why I'm lacing up my hiking boots and taking on the Thames Path Ultra Challenge 2024, a 50km walk from Fulham to Runnymede, to raise funds for Small Steps SFP.

Small Steps is a small charity with a big impact on the lives of physically disabled children and their families. As a registered charity, they don't receive any statutory funding and are solely dependent on grants, donations, and fundraising to operate. That's where we come in. By supporting Small Steps SFP, we can help provide specialist help and support to parents with physically disabled children like Lola.

At Small Steps SFP, Lola works on all areas of her development every week using the principles of conductive education. She loves going there - from the sweet voices singing songs while exercising her muscles to the kindness and care shown in every lesson - we see her smile, laugh, and improve weekly. It's a refuge where we can express ourselves, let Lola show us how brave she is, and feel safe and supported 100%.

Please help me make a difference by raising awareness and funds for Small Steps SFP. Every donation counts towards our target of £1,000 (GBP) by September 14th, 2024 - let's do this together!
