Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association's fundraiser for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association Glasgow South is raising money for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity
“Sunshine & Smiles Gala 2025”

on 22 November 2025

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association, also known as Lajna Imaillah, warmly welcomes you to our indoor fundraising event, hosted at the mosque in support of the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. In the spirit of community service and unity, we have come together to create an inclusive and uplifting atmosphere, where women from diverse backgrounds can connect, learn, and support a meaningful cause.

This special event will feature a variety of activities, including games with exciting prizes, a henna station, an exhibition, and a marketplace offering delicious cakes, food, sale items and more. As we gather in the mosque, this day is not just about raising funds, but about bringing people together, fostering new friendships, and celebrating our shared values of compassion and generosity. We hope you enjoy the event, engage with one another, and join us in making a positive impact for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity! Register free at:

Founded in 2001, Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity (formerly known as Yorkhill Children's Charity) was established to support children and their families treated at Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Sick Children - Yorkhill. For more than 100 years, the children’s hospital in Glasgow has been caring for babies, children and young people from across Scotland and beyond. Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity aims to be there for every child treated in hospital in the West of Scotland. The supporters and the children, families and staff they help at the hospital sit at the heart of everything they do.

Service to Mankind is the Essence of Islam. The Holy Qurán says: "Be competitive in doing good" (2: 149) hence we Ahmadi Muslims vie with one another in performing good deeds. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) emphasised love, sympathy, and kindness towards all. The Promised Messiah (peace be on him), the founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement, had a great compassion for mankind. He said, “Sympathy for all mankind is a moral obligation and a duty…that religion is no religion which does no inculcate sympathy, nor does that man deserve to be called a man who does not have sympathy in him (message of peace).”

Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association is an auxiliary organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. This auxilliary was first established in 1922 in India as an empowered women’s organisation by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-din Mahmud Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him) who was the Community’s second worldwide spiritual head (https://lajna.org.uk/lajna-imaillah-uk/).
