I'm Cycling 100 Miles for ME/CFS – Because My Daughter Faces This Struggle Every Day
Please Help Me Make a Difference.
On 1 June 2025, I’ll be taking part in the Norwich 100 Cycle Ride — pushing myself to ride 100 miles in one day.
Why? Because my daughter is living with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) — a devastating, invisible illness that has taken away her health, independence, and so many of the things most of us take for granted.
Watching her suffer day after day — exhausted, in pain, and often confined to bed — is incredibly hard. As a parent, I feel powerless. I can’t take it away. But I can do something.
This ride is way outside my comfort zone. I haven’t done anything like this before, and I know I’ll be exhausted and aching by the end — but that’s exactly how my daughter feels every single day.
I’m riding in aid of Invest in ME Research, a small, volunteer-run UK charity working tirelessly to change the future for people with ME/CFS. Despite affecting hundreds of thousands in the UK alone, ME/CFS remains severely underfunded, misunderstood, and often neglected by the medical community.
Invest in ME Research is dedicated to biomedical research, with a vision to find effective treatments — and one day, a cure. They don’t have big budgets or paid staff — just determination, heart, and a drive to make change happen.
💙 Please sponsor my ride. Your donation will go directly towards funding vital research and giving hope to those who need it most.
