Story
As Amy approaches her Bat Mitzvah, she’s embracing what this milestone truly means: becoming responsible for her actions, stepping into Jewish adulthood, and making a positive difference in the world.
In honour of this special time, Amy has chosen to fundraise for Emunah, a cause that is deeply meaningful to her and her family. Emunah supports vulnerable children and families in Israel—offering care, therapy, and stability to those who need it most.
This isn’t just any charity to Amy.
Her grandmother grew up at an Emunah home,
Her cousin also raised money for Emunah as part of her Bat Mitzvah,
And Amy herself attended a nursery in Israel that was run by Emunah—so this is part of her story too.
To raise money, Amy is taking on a triathlon challenge—a big physical and mental feat that reflects her commitment and determination. Just as the children at Emunah’s homes overcome huge challenges every day, Amy is pushing herself to go the extra mile for them.
All funds raised will go to the Sarah Herzog Children’s Centre in Afula, Emunah’s longest-running children’s home. It’s a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 8–18 who come from difficult and often traumatic backgrounds. The centre offers: Residential care and day programmes, Therapeutic and educational support, Urgent placements for children in crisis.
Since October 7th, demand has surged. More children than ever are being referred for urgent care as families face growing poverty, displacement, and instability. Emunah acts fast to provide shelter, food, emotional support, and—most importantly—a sense of safety and belonging.
As Amy becomes Bat Mitzvah, she’s choosing to live out the Jewish values of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity), and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
Please support her in this meaningful challenge. Every donation helps provide a child with care, hope, and a chance at a brighter future.
Thank you so much 💙
