Story
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 11, and since then it has controlled my life.
I am one of 100's of thousands of people in the UK who have type 1, and millions of people have developed type 2.
Most of my life I have dismissed Type 1 as being as serious as it is, and not realising how much effort I have to put in every day just to stay alive.
Thanks to technological developments, living with Type 1 is getting easier, and I want to raise money to continue research into making Type 1's lives easier.
That is why I have decided to strap my wee Ford Ka to my back and walk 10km to raise some money for charity. As well as raising money, I want to show people with Type 1 Diabetes or other long-term conditions that they don't have to be a life sentence or hold you back from doing amazing things.
