During October I'm taking part in the 100 challenge to help raise vital funds for Tiny Tickers "The Tiny Hearts Charity" and awareness surrounding CHD's in babies and children ❤️

Congenital Heart Disease in babies needs better detection, especially in during pre-natal checks. Tiny Tickers, among other things, trains sonographers to spot problems early, helping to better prepare for their arrival and help parents come to terms with what's ahead. They are also the most amazing support for parents and families in some of their most difficult times.

1 in every 100 babies is born with a heart condition 💔 These babies need better preparation and the best start possible, including access to treatments as soon as they are born.

Harrison's condition, severe pulmonary valve stenosis and two VSD's (ventricular septal defects, or holes in the heart) went completely undetected through my entire pregnancy. He was sent home despite obvious symptoms and at 6 days old we were told that without intervention, he would not survive the following 24 hours.

Thankfully, following Harrison's diagnosis and subsequent treatment, Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust received a donation from Tiny Tickers of a pulse oximeter to measure the sats (oxygen levels) in newborns as part of the newborn check. Had this have been available when he was born, he would never have been discharged without intervention. We wouldn't have been blue lighted 3 hours away for emergency treatment. We wouldn't have nearly lost him.
