I'm running the London Marathon 2026 for Demelza because this cause touches every part of who I am. As a mum, the thought of any child facing a life-limiting condition is unimaginable and yet, for some families, it's their daily reality. I really can’t imagine needing that kind of support and I hope I never will, but knowing it exists brings hope and strength to so many. As a teacher, I’ve worked with children from all walks of life, and I’ve witnessed the strength and resilience young people can show in the face of incredible challenges. It is so important for families to have somewhere to turn. A place like Demelza, where they are truly cared for, listened to, and supported without judgment. Demelza delivers extraordinary care to extraordinary children who are facing serious or life-limiting conditions, throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex. They offer more than medical care — they offer dignity, peace, and precious moments of joy, even in the darkest times.

For my 40th, I wanted to set myself a challenge. I want to set an example for my children and the children I teach. As a mum and a teacher, I know just how precious every moment is. Running a marathon is no small feat (especially when you're not a natural runner), but every step I take will be powered by love, purpose, and the incredible courage of the children and families Demelza supports.
