My dad, Lee Canwell, and I are taking on an 84-mile hike from coast to coast. We’ll be completing it over the course of the week, starting in the Lake District and finishing in Newcastle. We will be staying in B&Bs along the way, before making our way back home.

We’re doing this in memory of my grandad, who we sadly lost to cancer in August 2025. He was such a huge part of our lives and is missed every single day. He’ll always be remembered for his humour, his endless funny stories, and the love he showed to everyone around him.

Teesside Hospice gave my grandad the very best care in his final days, and we will be forever grateful for the kindness and support they showed our family. This challenge is our way of giving something back and raising money for an incredible cause.
