Walk and Talk for PoTS

Walk and Talk for PoTs · 18 May 2024
On Saturday 18th May I will be talking part in Walk and Talk for PoTS UK to raise awareness of Postural Tachycardia Syndrome a chronic illness very close to my heart (pardon the pun)!
I will be walking around the village of North Elmham with my family aiming for 5000 steps dressed in lots of purple #purpleforpots 💜
Your support will help PoTS UK to continue their invaluable work, advocating for PoTS patients and educating medics about this condition. The charity has been invaluable to me helping me manage my PoTs and learning about the condition. I went 9 years needlessly suffering with this debilitating condition when feeling so much better was a few lifestyle changes away. Awareness is key!
Postural Tachycardia Syndrome is an abnormality in the functioning of the autonomic nervous system causing symptoms such as racing/thudding heart beat, palpitations, chronic chest pain and syncope. It is most common in women aged 15-50 and in terms of disability it can be equivalent to living with heart failure or COPD.
