Amy's fundraiser for Asthma + Lung UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
On 27th April, I will be participating in the London Marathon. Now while most of you know, I am no stranger to a marathon, this one will be a challenge for sure. I have been plagued with injury during 2024 with plantar fasciitis so my running really did take a dip meaning I am almost starting from scratch. I also turn 40 this year and couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than running one of my favourite events with my good friend Lindsey.
The reason I am running for Asthma + Lung UK is because I have had asthma since I was 15 months old. My mum tells stories from when I was very young and very sick and ended up being looked after in an oxygen tent. Since then asthma has been a part of my everyday life. While running certainly helps it, sometimes it gets in the way and causes a run to feel harder than it should.
I decided to run for Asthma + Lung UK to help fund the invaluable work they do for so many. Your money will help fund nurses and support workers at the end of the phone to help those desperately in need of advice while also funding vital research to a disease that affects 7.2 million people in the UK. This is about 8 in every 100.
I know it’s tough parting with money but anything you can give will be greatly appreciated not just by me but also the numerous people it will help.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK’s nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
