Story
Since 1999 age 9yrs, King's college hospital has been there for me all throughout my diagnosis and treatment of a rare condition called Autoimmune Hepatitis (which is my immune system attacking my own liver).
They've gone above and beyond for me performing numerous liver biopsies, MRIs, CTs, Ultrasounds, Dexa scans, endoscopies, blood tests and one to one consultations.
Later on as an adult they performed my life saving Liver Transplant in 2018 with an expert team, and an amazing aftercare. Along with my incredible donor, King's are essentially the main reason I'm here today, along with lifelong meditation and the regular 3/6 monthly visits to keep a check on me.
Transplant for me unfortunately isn't a cure but it does give me a much better, longer quality of life.
King's College hospital are the reason I'm able to take part in this crazy but exciting ABSEIL!!. It will take place on the outside of the Golden jubilee wing, a department I've spent so much of my time, inside.
One thing that effected me the most growing up with a liver disease was the loneliness, feeling different and not knowing any other poorly children like me. Since my Transplant I've started volunteering yearly to support the 'Kings Children's transplant team.' It's an amazing yearly event called the British Transplant Games where children, adults, parents, guardians and friends with a connection to transplants can all meet in one place. The children can compete in sports against other hospitals, win medals and meet others socially who share similar stories and that have also experienced illness and received a life saving transplant. It brings so much joy to me and everyone else, it helps the kids feel like there not alone in their journey.
The money I raise will go towards funding the King's children's transplant team for 2026 so we can continue to offer this invaluable event to our Kings families.
So please join me in Fundraising for the British Transplant Games Fund D2338.
Please give what you can to support and encourage me, and remember the impact signing up to be an organ donor can have. Thank you 🥰
