On 4th July, me and my colleagues from MEC will be taking part in the Peak District Ultra Challenge, completing a 25km hike in Bakewell to help raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer.

This is a cause that means a great deal to us all at MEC, as prostate cancer has personally affected a member of our team, while other members of staff have also experienced the impact of seeing family members affected by this cancer. Like many people, we have seen first-hand how this disease affects not only individuals, but also families, friends, and colleagues.

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men during their lifetime, meaning it is something that will touch the lives of so many of us at some point. With a workforce that’s over 80% male, this is something we simply can’t ignore. Raising awareness and encouraging conversations around early detection has never been more important.
