I'm taking part in the CHFT Charity Lantern Trail this October to support Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity's Maternity Bereavement Appeal.

Every year, families across our communities experience the heartbreak of losing a baby. At the most difficult time imaginable, they deserve privacy, comfort and specialist support. That's why the appeal aims to raise £300,000 in stage 1 to create a dedicated Maternity Bereavement Suite at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

This special space will give bereaved families somewhere peaceful to spend precious time with their baby, make lasting memories and receive compassionate care away from the busy maternity ward.

Having used the current space to give birth to our baby boy at 20 weeks and spend precious time with him, we would like to do what we can to help make this space the best it can be for families experiencing these awful circumstances.
