Through quality education and comprehensive health services, Safe Passage offers a transformative experience for marginalized youth within a loving and supportive environment. Our unique model cultivates positive and lasting change for themselves, for their families and community, and for Guatemala.

Story

In honor of our mom, Nancy Easterday, we are fundraising to support Safe Passage, a 501(c) non-profit that provides health, education, and social support in Guatemala City.

Nancy Easterday dedicated her life to providing direct health services to underserved communities. She served as a public health nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner and later became the Executive Director of a network of community hospitals that provided free or low-cost healthcare to families and children in rural areas of southern Ohio. Above all, Nancy supported women and children’s healthcare initiatives.

Nancy had an opportunity to visit Safe Passage in Guatemala City and loved interacting with students and families during her time there.

Safe Passage works to transform lives by providing students with an excellent education, a higher quality of life, and pathways to a job with dignity so that they can achieve a better future for themselves and their families. They endeavor to be an international model for how a transformational education of the whole child - focused on wellness, lifelong learning, vocational skills, and community engagement - can break the cycle of poverty.

All funds raised will support the integrative health services program at Camino Seguro.
