In memory of Harry

Hiking up Snowdon · 19 October 2025

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

This October we are taking on the challenge of walking up Snowdon ,the highest mountain in Wales .

We have chosen to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts The Alzhemiers Society and in loving memory of our very first resident at Beeston Rise Harold Payne who sadly passed away recently , but also to raise awareness for all of our lovely and residents and relatives living with Dementia .

Daily we witness the cruel effects this devastating disease has on some of our lovely residents and currently around 982,000 people in the UK .

We want to support our residents and relatives to have a better understanding of Dementia and how to adapt to a new way of life that nobody ever prepares you for .

Anything you are able to donate would be much appreciated ,we will document the whole journey ,none of us have ever done anything on this scale before so this is a huge challenge for all of us taking part .

The Mind may not remember. But the heart will never forget 🩵
