Story
In Autumn 2006 my dad, my hero told his family he had skin cancer. I was only 10 at time and within a year, my dad lost his life at only 42. He would never walk me down the aisle, meet his grandkids or even see me finish secondary school. He only just made it to see me starting secondary school in my uniform. I started in September 2007 and on the 25th September 2007 my dad lost his fight to cancer.
This year on the 19th June my dad should have been celebrating his 60th birthday with his family and his friend's.
He always wanted a boy and had three girls who he loved dearly. Now he has three wonderful grandson’s that he never got to meet. Personally, I think he might have had something to do with it, sending them straight from heaven.
It’s coming up to 18 years and the pain of loosing him still never leaves.
The last year and half has gotten harder since nanna’s (my dad’s mum) passing she was here for the big moments when my dad wasn’t able to. Hold your love ones tight and cherish every moment.
My memories of my dad may have faded however my love for him never will. I will strive to make him proud and am finally going to raise some money in his memory as he deserves the world. I will be running/walking 60 miles in 6 days, any donations to Cancer Research UK would be appreciated for the amazing work they do to help people living with cancer giving them the chance to live longer and even beat cancer.
