Story
In November 2024, my dad Mick was diagnosed with Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), which is rare. Thankfully it is 95% treatable and will not come back once he is in remission, but there are people out there who are not so lucky. Blood Cancer UK's Online Community Forum has been a lifeline for me during this time, being able to share my anxieties and questions with people who are understanding and amazingly reassuring. I am proud to be running the Saucony 10K in July 2025 for Blood Cancer UK.
We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
