Story
“After almost 100 years on the planet, I now understand the most important place on Earth is not on land, but at sea,” says Sir David Attenborough. "If we save the sea, we save our world".
Since I started working for the SEA LIFE TRUST just over a year ago, I've come to understand the importance of protecting our oceans. Pollution, climate change, and habitat loss are putting pressure on marine life all across the globe and having a pretty devastating impact on the planet. The problem is... it's happening underwater. So people can't see it. And for that reason, we don't always feel compelled to do something about it.
As the fundraising lead at the SEA LIFE TRUST I thought I better do something to raise awareness of the issue - on a personal level as well as a professional one. And why not do it in the scariest way I can think possible - stepping off from the top of the tallest rollercoaster in the UK to shimmy myself down a 72 metre rope in mid-air. Perfect!
I was the first to sign up... and then reality hit. What have I signed up to do?! Mega-eek. Please help me!
By supporting me and donating to the SEA LIFE TRUST you'll be helping us to protect our oceans by enabling the charity to advance global conservation, operate pioneering animal sanctuaries, and inspire positive action from communities across the world.
Thank you in advance for your support. I really appreciate it. As do my seal, puffin and beluga friends. I'll be sure to send photographic evidence of me crying at the top… and hopefully smiling at the bottom!
