Story
Please help me in raising funds for the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, which works to enhance the care and treatment of patients at the Royal Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch Hospitals.
I have worked for UHD for over three years, in the Dementia and Delirium team. I see first hand what a difference charity donations can make to our patients on a daily basis. We use a portion of these funds to provide materials to help engage our patients who are living with dementia. Some of these therapeutic activities include arts and crafts, baking, music, movement groups and gardening.
Encouraging our patients to be active socially, physically and mentally helps us to prevent deconditioning, and reduces the distress they experience being in hospital. It also helps foster friendship and connection between patients, reducing the feeling of isolation during admissions.
I'm so lucky to be able to be a part of this work, and so grateful to all of you who help me by donating to our UHD charity.
Here’s how your contribution can make a difference:
£5: Could provide a meal for a carer who cannot leave their loved one’s bedside.
£10: Could fund activities like colouring books and pens for patients with dementia.
£50: Could help purchase the latest specialist medical equipment to improve patient care.
Please consider donating whatever you can, it all makes a difference!
