Street Child's SuperHalfs Team are taking on 6 Half Marathons across 2025 to help Street Child ensure that children are safe, in school and learning.

Story

Hello lovely friends and family,

We live in a time where turning on the news or reading the paper can feel overwhelming and whatever your beliefs, political views or opinions, we can agree that children should never have to bear the weight of poverty, conflict, or neglect. Yet millions around the world do, every single day.

After feeling helpless in this space, Matt and I were looking for an opportunity to try and do some good. We also love a challenge so when we found an opportunity to raise money for StreetChild whilst improving our fitness we signed up straight away.

The Challenge:

The SuperHalfs series is a six half marathon races across Europe that we will run in 2025/26. These races are as follows:

- Copenhagen Half- 14th September 2025 (COMPLETE!)

- Cardiff Half - 5th October 2025

- Valencia Half - 26th October 2025

- Lisbon Half - 8th March 2026

- (BIG FINISH!) Prague Half - 28th + Berlin Half - 29th March 2026

The Charity:

StreetChild Purpose : To see all children safe, in school and learning- Especially in low resource environments and emergencies.

StreetChild is working provide access to education, safety, and support, to help vulnerable children reclaim their futures. Whether it's rebuilding schools in disaster zones or supporting families to keep children in classrooms, their work is life-changing. Your donation can make a real, lasting impact. It can mean the difference between a child growing up in hardship or growing up with hope.

Founded in Sierra Leone in 2008, Street Child now works in over 20 of the world’s poorest and most disaster-affected countries, including Afghanistan, Ukraine and Somalia.

- 1,449,136 Children reached. 595,014 were directly supported to access education.

- 222,514 Adults have been reached through programmes such as the family business scheme, education classes and teacher training.

- 1,022 Schools have been supported either through construction or renovation to improve learning environments and 572 temporary learning spaces constructed in emergency contexts.

Your donation:

£12 = Support an emergency-affected student in Somalia to return to school with resources to learn

£20 = 1 months education for 5 children

£33 = Give a child in Liberia an education package of bag, univorm, books and stationary

Thanks and wish us luck!

Please consider giving a donation to the cause as Matt and I rack up the miles of training. We would love your support in raising funds that we know will make a difference to young people who deserve the best start in life.

If you do not feel able to donate at this time, we would also love to hear any messages of good luck to distract us from our sore legs.

Thank you for your time,

Amy (& Matt)
