I have always been into health and fitness, from cardio, weighs and pole fitness but running has never been my thing! After loosing a friend from work last year who was a keen runner, my mum planting the seed of completing a half marathon and another friend jumping at the opportunity I decided that now was my time to really push out of my comfort zone and challenge myself!

As our local hospital, the William Harvey has  treated many friends and family members over the years and in 2011 and 2015 was the place that welcomed my daughters, Jess and Immy, into the world. I am particularly grateful for the care and skill of the staff that assisted with Jess’s birth which involved many additional scans and check ups throughout my pregnancy, culminating in a 13-strong team to ensure the safe arrival of Jess due to complications as a result of placenta previa.

I’m sure we will continue to need the services of the William Harvey in the future and so it feels like an ideal opportunity to be able to give something back. 

Taking on this personal challenge, with two of my closest friends, for The Friends of William Harvey felt like it was meant to be.

Please get behind me in my challenge and support me in raising much needed funds for a great cause, enabling The Friends of William Harvey Hospital to continue to make a positive impact on the care provided throughout the hospital community.
