Story
It is with a heavy heart that I update this to say Neil sadly lost his battle with MND on Wednesday the 22nd of April, just one year after his diagnosis. Thank you for all the donations so far, hopefully one day we will find a cure to help other families beat this dreadful disease.
I will be taking on the biggest challenge I’ve faced, running Edinburgh marathon as well as the Londons Landmarks half just 6 weeks prior in order to raise money for the My Name’5 Doddie foundation.
Motor Neurone Disease is a rapidly progressing and fatal disease with currently no known cure. It is more common than you might think with about 6 people diagnosed every day in the UK. Unfortunately earlier this year my uncle was one of these people. He is one of the fittest and most active people I know and this was the most shocking and devastating news for our whole family. His attitude and resilience after his diagnosis to keep living life to the fullest is inspiring.
This is what made me decide to support a charity very close to us. While Neil has not used the charity himself, the work they do to support others and invest in research to find a cure for this devastating condition is incredible.
I am posting this early as I have a very long winter of training ahead and will need as much motivation as possible, so every donation made will be a huge boost. Thank you for the support 💛💙
