On Sunday 14th July 2024, I’ll be running in The London 10k for Parkinson’s UK.

Anyone who knows me knows that this will be a big challenge for me, as I have never done a ‘Fun Run’ or a ‘Couch to 5k’ before… let alone a 10k in London! However, doing this run couldn’t even come close in comparison to all that my Grandad has done for me and my family.

My Grandad John has always been there to fix things when they are broken, offer a joke to make people laugh and has always been the first to offer help to those who have needed it. Since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he isn’t as able to do all of those things anymore (although he’s never run out of his jokes and cheekiness), so I thought it was about time to do something for him instead, and many others who may be going through a similar thing to him and our family.

I look forward to taking on the challenge of The London 10k and hope to make my Grandad as proud as he’s made me.
