Climbing Kilimanjaro for Mental Health Services

Amy Sweet is raising money for Dorset HealthCare Charitable Fund
In memory of Suzanne McGarvey

Mount Kilimanjaro · 2 October 2026

Dorset HealthCare Charitable Fund is the Charity for Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. Dorset HealthCare runs a range of physical and mental health services both in the community and in hospital settings. Donations will benefit our patients, visitors and staff.

Story

This October, I'm climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest free-standing mountain in the world and the tallest mountain in Africa, standing at an epic 5,895m.

To mark this challenge, I'm fundraising for the Assertive Outreach Team and the Community Rehab Team through Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust charity.

2026 marks 10 years since my lovely mum, Suzanne McGarvey, passed away. For many years, the Assertive Outreach Team did so much to support her, and their care and dedication means a great deal to me.

This fundraising is a small way to say thank you to them and remember my mum. The money raised can support the Assertive Outreach Team and the Community Rehab Team's music group – an initiative that helps the people they support find joy and relief through music.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, I would be incredibly grateful.

I’m taking on this adventure alongside my aunty Becky. Sharing such an amazing experience together makes it even more special. Wish us luck for summit night!

Thank you so much for your support ❤️
