Story
In April, I will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Bliss, a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.
Working with neonatal babies and their families, I am privileged to witness some of life’s most challenging and most inspiring journeys. For many parents, the neonatal journey begins unexpectedly, bringing fear, uncertainty and heartache. Yet alongside those difficult moments, there is also extraordinary courage, resilience, hope and love.
As I train and prepare for this half marathon, I know there will be moments of struggle, determination, laughter, friendship and joy along the way. In many ways, that feels symbolic of the journeys I see every day on the neonatal unit. While my race will last just a few hours, the strength shown by our babies and their families leaves a lasting impression forever.
Every step I take will be in honour of the tiny babies fighting their biggest battles, the parents who stand beside them through every milestone, and the dedicated teams who support them. Crossing the finish line will be a moment of celebration, but more importantly, it will be an opportunity to support Bliss and the incredible work they do to help families navigate their neonatal journey.
Thank you for your support, encouragement and generosity. Together, we can help ensure that every baby and every family receives the care and support they deserve.
