Story
A year ago Ronnie did an hour sponsored bounce to raise money for new trampolines for one of his favourite places - Notts Gymnastics Academy. You were all amazing and he has been bouncing happily there ever since.
Unfortunately on Monday the gym was devastated by the recent flooding and despite the efforts of lots of volunteers the damage is huge. Notts is looking into grants/insurance etc but in the meantime they have to get the gym fixed asap to help the 1500 members get back to training and having fun.
For Ronnie that place is more than training and fun - it is about health, happiness and inclusion. Gymnastics gives him huge sensory feedback which is important to help him regulate but also it’s an environment that welcomes him and adapts for him - it’s his very happy place.
So after much deliberation he has chosen his next challenge - to do 14 days of extreme reading - followed by a three metre Lego fire walk! Amongst other diagnosis Ronnie has ADhD and dyslexia so simply agreeing to read is a big deal - but to make it doable he is going to read in extreme places or positions every day for 14 days and then end it with what he thinks is going to be incredibly fun - and walk on Lego for three metres 😱
If you can donate anything to help the cause and get him (and 1499 other kids) back to the gym as soon as possible please do.
Thank you 😊
