Story
I’m running the TCS London Marathon on 27th April 2025 to raise money for Pilgrims Hospices, a charity that provides compassionate, free end-of-life care to people in east Kent. They support individuals and families facing terminal illness, offering not only medical care but also emotional and practical support to help people live well until the end.
This cause is close to my heart. Earlier this year, I lost my aunt to cancer after a long and brave battle. Aunty Shirley was a remarkable person — strong, kind, and always there for others. Pilgrims Hospices provided her with incredible care in her final days, offering her comfort and dignity. They made a huge difference to both her and our family, and I’m grateful for their support.
Aunty Shirley was also a big supporter of my running, so I’m running this marathon in her memory and to give back to the organisation that was there for her when she needed it most.
Every donation helps Pilgrims Hospices continue their vital work. Here’s how your contribution could make a difference:
- £10 could pay for a patient’s meals for a day.
- £20 could fund an hour of nursing care.
- £50 could provide essential nursing supplies.
- £250 could cover a patient’s day hospice session, including care, activities, and support.
No matter how small, your support means the world to me. I’m grateful for every donation.
Running this marathon is also a personal challenge. I’ve struggled with shin splints and other setbacks, but I’m building up my fitness and staying focused on the goal. I’m determined to cross that finish line, both in honor of my aunt and to challenge myself.
Thank you so much for your generosity — it truly makes a difference!
