Story
Sullivan’s Heroes is a charity offering support and financial assistance for families raising essential funds for vital home adaptations for a disabled child, to continue to care for their child at home, safely and with dignity.
We are fundraising so Finlay can have an accessible home that meets his physical and visual needs.
To be independent, Finlay needs:
A bedroom suitable for a teenager.
Open plan living space.
A wet room that can be accessed independently.
An adapted kitchen suitable for a wheelchair user.
Ground floor internal doorways widened for easy access.
Permanent ramped access to the rear of our home so Finlay can access the garden.
Finlay has never lived in a fully accessible home, having a home that meets our own needs is something that we take for granted. He is a fantastic, chatty and engaging teenager and lives his life with enthusiasm and vigour.
Finlay was a premature baby, he was born at 31.5 weeks and has cerebral palsy, is a full time wheelchair user, has a cortical visual impairment and nystagmus.
