Story
Everyday our work revolves around where you call home. Helping people to find and buy somewhere to call home is what we do. We also firmly believe that everyone should be able to call somewhere home. However, as the cost-of-living crisis remains people are being faced with incredibly hard choices to make, like going without either food or electricity. This is where the crucial work of charities like Instant Neighbour help.
Over the last 40 years, Instant Neighbour have helped provide practical help, advice & support. By supporting people on low incomes to set up a home or providing access to low-cost reuse furniture, white goods, clothing and bric-a-brac. Instant Neighbour have been able to support some of the poorest and most vulnerable people living in and around Aberdeen.
That’s why this year we’ve chosen to fundraise for Instant Neighbour during the 2026 Kiltwalk, to help further support the tremendous work they do throughout the Northeast and to help ensure everyone has the support needed to make their home their own.
“Homes are at the centre of what we do. That is why we are immensely proud to support Instant Neighbour and the fantastic work they do. Their practical help makes a real difference for individuals and families across the Northeast, particularly as many people continue to face difficult cost of living pressures. By taking on the Kiltwalk, we are aiming to raise funds and awareness, so more people can have the chance to make somewhere home.” – Catherine McKay, Private Client Partner, andersonbain LLP
