Our vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer. For the last 35 years, we’ve been working tirelessly to fund much needed research into childhood cancer.

Story

Hello friends and family.

A lot of you may know the last 18 months have been very difficult for the Draycott family. Mine and Jazz’s beautiful daughter (Willow) was diagnosed with 2 Neuroblastoma tumours, it is a rare type of cancer that mostly affects children under 5. You can imagine this was the most awful news we could ever imagine receiving and hopefully the worse day of our lives. Over this time she has undergone 3 types of chemotherapy, 6 weeks in isolation miles away from home receiving high dose super chemotherapy, 1 long surgery, 3 weeks of radiotherapy everyday in Nottingham city hospital and multiple scans and general anaesthetics, thankfully she is now on her last treatment of 6 months of immunotherapy which will finish in March. Although this has been extremely tough on Willow, she has been the toughest cookie. Smiling throughout, taking everything in her stride, only complaint she’s had is about the pain when it gets unbearable and always refusing pain relief. Words can’t even come close to how proud she has made me and her mum, we just can’t wait for the day this nightmare is over for her!

All through this time we have had amazing support from our family and friends and we will never be able to thank everyone enough for all of this. From looking after our son Ted to let me and Jaz still work while Willow was in hospital, to friends arranging meals in tough times, raising money for Willow to have days out and a couple of weekends away when it was possible, to just being there for us when we needed it.

This brings me onto the reason you are all reading this…

Not everyone is as fortunate as us with the support we have received. This is why I feel it is only right I should give something back to children going through this journey with less support. At the end of April I am running the London marathon with my two best mates George Davis and Scott Turner. Me and Scott are raising a minimum of £2000 each for Children with Cancer and George is raising minimum of £2500 for Neuroblastoma UK. Most of you will know I am no runner, but I have took this challenge very seriously and I’m currently on my 35th run with my training. The children going through this horrible disease keep me going!

We are hoping to raise as much money as possible and any donation would be amazing no matter the size. It would really go along way in support, treats in hospital , days out and towards research for these little people who don’t deserve this.

Thank you everyone for reading this and supporting our cause.
