I’m raising money for The Headlight Project after losing my youngest sister to suicide following domestic violence in 2021, and my mother to suicide in 2024.

This cause is deeply personal to me, as I’ve been heavily affected by suicide, loss, and difficult life events involving my family and loved ones. The Headlight Project has supported me through some of the hardest trauma and grief I have experienced. Through their services for people affected by suicide and bereavement, I’ve received counselling and EMDR therapy, which have helped me process the trauma and begin healing.

I will be taking part in this years Headlight Hike into the Light. I'll be walking 10 miles from Cod Beck reservoir and onto part of the Cleveland Way route from 10:30pm-5:00am finishing as the sun comes up.

The Headlight Project aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the Tees Valley, which has one of the highest regional rates in the country. We aim to achieve this by providing therapy to those bereaved by suicide, and delivering preventative education and training to schools, local businesses and the community.
