I'm part of Team Ride for 2026. Please help me reach my target of £1,250 for Children's Hospice South West.

In July, I'll be cycling over 200 miles from Somerset to Cornwall in aid of CHSW to help raise vital funds to support and care for children and young people living with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

I love to sew and a sewing workshop seemed a perfect idea for my fundraising. Here's the plan:

Bag-making workshop:

When: It will take us 2 days, March 28th & 29th 2026

Time: 10.30 am - 4.30 pm

Where: EX36 (25 mins from Junction 27, M5)

Accommodation: Please speak to me!

Fabric: Waxed cotton (provided), but let me know if you'd like to use something else?

Cost: £150, but remember it is all for charity and you will go home with a new bag, having had two days of relaxation and great food with fun company.

Included: Fabric, pattern, notions, lunches, cake, endless tea and conversation

Do you need to be able to sew? Well as long as you can go backwards and forwards on a machine, we will make sure you leave with a bag (come what may!)

Do you need to bring a machine? Ideally yes, but let me know if you can't and we will sort something out (I have at least two at my disposal)

How will it work? I think the key thing is that these are relaxing, restful days that we all enjoy. I plan to take us through the bag pattern in stages, so we can all progress together and help each other along. At the end, we will all end up with a bag.
