On Thursday 25 April, members of the Lambrook Community, including the Headmaster, will join together to take on the 201 mile challenge of cycling from Lambrook School to Paris, in just 3 days in support of the Lambrook Foundation.

Story

Dear Friends,

We hope you are well. Lucinda and I have agreed to join around 65 parents and the headmaster from our son’s school on a charity bike ride between Windsor and Paris over three days from the 25th to the 27th April in support of the fantastic Lambrook Foundation.

After purchasing our bikes at the end of February, we have been busy learning about strava, chamois creams and cycling bibs. Whilst we have near perfected the night-before-cycling carb-loading meal, we have been desperately scrambling to get fit and practise our cycling ahead of the long journey ahead which consists of 341 km (213 miles) and approx. 2.4km of elevation. We head from Windsor on Thursday morning 132km down to the 11pm overnight ferry at Newhaven, arriving in Dieppe at 5am the following morning to start pedalling early to Beauvais (116 km) for some well-earned rest. On Saturday morning we cycle the last 93km to finish at the Eiffel Tower and hopefully some serious rehydrating.

The cycle ride is raising funds for the amazing Lambrook Foundation and the following areas that it supports:

• International Partnership School - Hope Valley Farm School, South Africa

• Schools’ Partnership work with local Berkshire schools

• Transformational Bursary provision through the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation

• Pupil chosen House Charities - Thames Valley Adventure Playground, Rosie’s Rainbow, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Camp Mohawk

Lucinda and I would be very grateful for any support whatsoever you can give us.

With love and blisters,

Andrew and Lucinda xx
