Job Done!! My BGR is in the bag!!✅😁🍾🎉

If you didn't know, the BGR is a brutal 24-hour endurance challenge in the Lake District...

* A 66(ish)-mile run/scramble/climb over 42 of the highest peaks in the Lake District 🏃‍♂️

* Around 27,000 ft of cumulative ascent (and descent!) - Everest is ~29,000 ft 😬🏔️

* Target time: 24 hours ⏱️

This definitely was not a solo event - I cannot thank my amazing support team enough! We did this together and I’ll be forever grateful! Claire Barker gets a special mention for making sure the day ran like clockwork - I don’t expect many BGR attempts have that level of organisation!

A day of highs and lows in every sense and multiple moments when it really was mind over matter! Highlights were the night running under amazing stars, (and aurora if I had looked behind me!) the perfect sunrise off Fairfield, the full buffet service at each road crossing, the banter and the emotional finish!

The lows? Ask my (very tolerant!) support team?! 🫣 Let's just say eating copious amounts on the run doesn't play well on my digestive system!

The weather gods were on our side! No wind, a clear night, an awesome sun rise!

Still digesting (😬) the scale of this. Time to recover now and find something else to talk about after months of obsession! 😂
