Andrew Castle is raising money for Mind in Gwent
In memory of Ariana

Climbing Snowdon · 12 September 2026

We’re Mind in Gwent, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. We help people across Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen by providing vital mental health services.

Story

In October 2025 our beautiful granddaughter Ariana, (Ari) took her own life after struggling with her mental health over a number of years. This has devastated our family and left a huge hole in the hearts and lives of Ari’s family and friends. In honour of Ari, myself, my son Callum, Ari’s brother Caleb, 4 of my regimental brothers, Ed, Vic, Keith and Ross plus fellow Bristol Parkway driver Brad are going to walk Wales highest peak Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa). Us former Royal Hussars are all north of 60 now and should know better, but for such an important cause we are up for the challenge. Mind in Gwent provide support for anybody struggling with their mental health, and any money raised on this page will be used to help young people like Ariana get the support they deserve. Before they feel their only option is to leave their families and friends behind and face life without their loved one.
