Story
I’m proud to be running the 2025 TCS London Marathon in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
Seven million people live with cardio-vascular disease which accounts for 25% of deaths in the UK. Like many others, the condition has affected my family over many years and in a variety of ways. So it’s important to me that I support people leading the research into heart disease to increase the chances of improving and saving the lives of others.
I am fortunate to be able to compete in this iconic race. And at 62, it’s a case of “if not now, when ?” So, please help me make a difference now by supporting my fundraising on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
The BHF vision sees a world without heart & circulatory diseases. Since 1961 the research and education they have sponsored has cut mortality caused by heart conditions in half. In 2023-24 the Foundation provided £120M for new research, raising its ongoing research commitment to £430M p.a. across 703 projects. (www.bhf.org.uk)
If you are kind enough to make a donation, please consider ticking the box that allows you to share your email address privately with me so I can thank you and include you in my weekly news blog.
And if applicable, please select the Gift Aid option, as HM Govt will gladly increase your donation by 25%, at no additional cost to you.
Please help me help BHF beat heartbreak forever.
Andrew
It’s people’s donations that have allowed the British Heart Foundation get this far, and every breakthrough they’ve made has been funded by people like us.
They promise that for every £1 raised, around 76p goes straight to funding life-saving heart research, and the risk factors that cause them. The rest is invested to grow their income, because as you’d imagine, there is still so much work that they need to do.
