This is my third and final try to cycle the classic end to end of Britain, on the Ride across Britain, if I don't make it this time I don't think there will be a fourth attempt. I am doing the challenge just after my last day of working at the Limes Dental Practice and my retirement. I have used the advantage of my reduced hours this summer to take more time for my training.

As a member of the Rotary club of the Isle of Axholme I have supported Rotary's quest to finally end Polio for the best part of 20 years. The ride is from September 7th to 15th and is roughly 110 miles per day. It is the biggest Land's End to John O Groats ride in the year with about 800 cyclists with full back up and support. On my first attempt due to a tragic accident, on day seven, I was transported by bus on a 140 mile diversion due to the road being closed in Scotland and the missing 70 miles has nagged at me since 2014. On second attempt in 2022 I managed six and a half days before grinding to a halt feeling terrible before being diagnosed with covid that night and having to head home.

Hopefully this time I will complete my bucket list challenge of getting all the way unaided!
