I am running the the Edinburgh marathon to raise money to help the National Trust, Clumber park have Clumber Spaniel statutes placed at each end of the repaired Clumber Bridge.
The Clumber Spaniel bread was developed at the park in the late 18th century and took the name from Clumber park.
In 2018 Clumber Bridge was vandalised and more than £500,000 of damage was caused,
destroying much of its historic fabric. The restoration project took over two years to complete using sections of original stonework rescued from the lake below, alongside carefully crafted new stone.
The final stage of the project is to introduce a series of new bollards, commissioned in the shape of the Clumber Spaniel, to stand guard and help protect the Grade II listed monument for future generations. This will be a fitting tribute to the lovely Clumber Spaniel bread.
